The Existing Gutter Problem
The existing gutters appeared to have been on the home for more than 30 years and were in very rough condition. Years of exposure and limited maintenance had left the system worn, deteriorated, and ready for complete replacement.
Because of the home’s height and distinctive architecture, the replacement system needed to provide dependable drainage while complementing the character of the property.
Our Recommendation
After evaluating the existing system, we recommended removing the old gutters and replacing them with custom-fabricated, 5-inch seamless aluminum gutters in charcoal gray. The color was selected to coordinate with the home’s trim and preserve its distinctive appearance.
We paired the new gutters with oversized 3×4-inch downspouts to improve drainage. Gutter guards were also installed on the difficult-to-access two-story sections to reduce debris buildup and future maintenance.
The gutter replacement was completed as a subcontractor for an established Denver-area roofing contractor.

Custom Gutter Installation Around the Turret
One of the most challenging parts of this project was replacing the gutter around the home’s rounded turret section. A standard straight gutter could not follow the curved roofline, so the system had to be carefully constructed from multiple custom-fitted sections.
Approximately 30 individual miters were measured, hand-cut, fitted, and sealed to create a clean gutter system that followed the turret’s shape. Each connection required precision to maintain the proper pitch, support dependable water flow, and preserve the architectural character of the home.
This type of detailed work takes considerably more time and craftsmanship than a standard gutter installation, but the completed system provides a much cleaner fit and a finished appearance appropriate for the property.

The completed charcoal gray gutter system complements the home’s existing trim while providing dependable drainage across its varied rooflines. New 3×4-inch downspouts help move water away efficiently, while gutter guards help reduce debris buildup and maintenance on the difficult-to-access two-story sections.
